Teacher’s notes and lesson plan
The aim of the lesson is to practice the form “going to” for future and get the kids to talk about their plans for the new year.
Phonics (for non-readers) Reading (the likes of Oxford Kipper books etc)
Warm up (Missing cards/3 hint quiz) with verb vocab cards
Drill the flashcards, showing kids going to is usually pronnounced “gonna”.
Play paper scissors rock with flashcards
Do the worksheet
Stamp Rally/Spot the difference
Read a good kids picture book, such as You Choose and get the kids to answer Qs with the target language “What’s he going to do?” “He’s going to fly a plane” etc.
