Teacher’s notes and lesson plan
The objective of this lesson is to practise using present perfect in a speech about the students’ experience of learning English.
If necessary pre-teach the grammar forms since + specific moment in the past (I’ve spoken English since I was 10 years old) and for + length of time (I’ve spoken English for five years).
Give the two worksheets to the students. Get the students to read out the sample speech.
Get the students to write the answers to the 7 questions, about themselves
Have the students read out their speeches in pairs or to the teacher.
Have the students close their books and give their speech from memory (with prompts from the students or teacher if necessary).
Record the speeches and send to their parents (if it goes well!)
