Lesson Plan and teacher’s notes
The aim of the 40-minute lesson is to practise the use of present continuous (-ing verbs). You don’t say that’s what you are doing, but the little ones are getting a basic grammar lesson without realising it.
Song: Hello Song
Song: Walking, Walking
Model vocabulary using flashcards that you can screen-grab and print out from below and laminate for re-use
Paper scissors rock game using cards, and/or missing game
Print out worksheet below, get kids tracing the words and colouring in the pictures.
Song: If you are happy and you know it
Play charades (mime actions, get students to guess what others are doing. Use flashcards to prompt if kids are shy)
Game (bingo/3-hint quiz/missing)
Story book: Timothy Pope and his Telescope (or any with lots of action pics of people doing things that you can use ing verbs to describe)
Song: Bye Bye
