Lesson Plan and teacher’s notes
The aim of the 40-minute lesson is to practice the form “I can” + verb. By the end of the lesson, the kids should be confident at answering the short form “Yes, I can!” and “No, I can’t!” as well as making the longer sentence “I can swim.” Don’t worry about drilling the longer negative “I can’t read” or such. You don’t want a bunch of kids going home telling their parents “I can’t swim! I can’t read!” Much better if they go home saying nice uplifting positive things, right?
